Cpl. David Thibodeaux was in Iraq with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, when the Dixie Chicks partnered with anti-war group in 2004. Despite the band making headlines with anti-war views, he didn’t know much about them, he says.

Nevertheless, Thibodeaux now sings “Not Ready to End the Fight,” an “answer song” to the Dixie Chicks’ 2006 anti-war hit, “Not Ready to Make Nice.”

“I’ve seen so many good things happen in Iraq, and I don’t think it’s time for the war to end,” said Thibodeaux, a member of the Chemical and Biological Incident Response Force. “Anybody who doesn’t think there are terrorists out there should open their eyes.”

Featuring backing music from members of Toby Keith’s Easy Money Band, the song has been played on radio stations across the country. A music video will be released soon.

How did a Louisiana native stationed in Indian Head, Md., find himself recording music in Nashville? It began when another Marine, Maj. Deryl Michael, and Tim Hernandez, a friend who had worked in the music business, watched the Dixie Chicks accept their Grammy on TV in 2007. They decided that night to write a response song and find an active-duty serviceman to sing it.

The Dixie Chicks were right.

Absolutely fabulous!!! Toby needs to sign him to his recording label!!!!

I think FINALLY this song is being used as it should be – against the terrorists and not the american people protecting us from them

That figures, that the first comment I see after watching the video is one that probably comes from a person that can`t answer the most basic history question put to them about American History! But God Bless that person, for it has been American Fighting Men an Women that keeps that right alive for them still till this day! I on the other hand likED the Dixie Chicks music until shortly after 911 they had the audacity to speak so openly with comments that they clearly had no clue as to what was going on. Clearly no one likes War, but to not research what started it, and why we need to fight to protect ourselves and others… Thats just reckless judgement, for someone to use there fame to lead other people like sheep to a slaughter, that will come if we do not stand up against those who take the lives of other all in the name of Religon thats just Foolish. I fought in a war that was supposed to be about stopping the spread of Communisom. I was spat on upon returning to my country for my efforts. Now we have a really scary and real force doing there best to take out the Infidels, and it seems like most want to say, it will go away soon. But let me get together with my stock broker and see how this situation has affected my stock investments. I for one believe anyone that say`s or complains like the Dixie Chicks have done, a Patriotic soul shold be standing right next to them! And just BITCH SLAP Them!!! But then thats just me. Former Marine Cpl. U.S.M.C. James Maverick, of Good ole Boy! Houston Texas Dixie Chicks can Kiss My Southern White Ass!

Hey, J Maverick, Thanks for serving our country!! I think you’re a hero and I appreciate what you did for us!! I am soooo sorry that you were treated badly when you returned from war, it really just makes me sick! Hopefully there are enough people like me who convince you that you are our hero!
